The Hunter Lane workshop where nothing gets fixed without you understanding it first

Your local autorepair based in Hornsby, NSW.

I'm Phil. I run Precision Mechanics on Hunter Lane in Hornsby — the workshop you might know from its Hunter Lane Automotive days. I took it over because I wanted to run a workshop the way I think one should run: you bring me the car, I find the actual problem, I explain it so it makes sense, and nothing gets spent without you approving it first.

A lot of my customers arrive after bad experiences elsewhere — a repair that didn't fix the problem, a bill that grew without warning. So I work the other way. Diagnose properly, show you what I found, give you options that fit your budget, and source the part at the best price I can — genuine where it matters. Then I hand the car back running right, and clean. That's the whole formula, and it's why people keep coming back.

  • Find the real fault first

Codes, tests and inspection before a single part is replaced. Guessing is what makes repairs expensive.

  • Your approval before your money

Every extra is explained and approved first. No growing invoices.

  • Genuine parts, honest prices

Genuine where it matters, sourced at the best price I can find — dealers aren't the only option.
